Now that’s job variety!

As much as we love working on weddings, we also really enjoy working on different types of events and love the variety our work brings.

One of this Summers most unexpected requests was that from a lady living in London who wanted to surprise her boyfriend (who was living in Cornwall) on his birthday, as they were not going to be together on this special day. She contacted Jenny Wren, with a clear idea of what she wanted to do, but no idea how to organise it from out of the county.

We took on the challenge to organise a delivery of no less than 101 helium filled balloons, with a personalised handwritten note attached to the ribbon of each and every one, along with a gift wrapped by us, to the lucky recepricants front door on the morning of his birthday!

It took a fair bit of organising…

We could not prepare the balloons anywhere near the house, as there was a risk of us being seen and the surprise ruined. As well as this the unpredictable Cornsih weather also meant we would need a van big enough to house the balloons in until the moment came to deliver them (9am on the dot!)

Our man with a van, our balloon supplier and Jenny herself were in a local hotels car park (who had kindly agreed to let us use it) at around 7am on a Monday morning preparing the balloons. We had quite an audience of early bird hotel guests enjoying their breakfast and the view, probably wondering what was going on!

With the balloons carefully placed in the van (and none popping on route to the house!) we made it to the front door, carrying half each, both a little worried we may take off!

The look on his face was priceless, what a lovely and thoughtful gesture that was perfectly planned and orchastrated behind the scenes, without him knowing a thing about it.

Getting the balloons throught the front door was interesting! balloon 2

As Jenny walked away with a job well done she thought to herself, what a thing to be doing on a Monday morning, we love the variety our job brings!
